Ristikko

Arrival and entrance

The facilitie is located on the 3rd floor of the Ristikko shopping center. The shopping center has an elevator. When exiting the elevator on the 3rd floor, there is a door with a threshold. The door is not automatic. There are accessible parking spaces in the parking garage and in the outdoor parking area.

Moving around the facilities

The gyms’s climbing walls are located on two floors. The ground floor houses customer service, changing rooms, restroom and shower facilities, a café and restaurant, auto-belay walls, the rope climbing area and the members’ gym. Between the floors is a large terrace, which can only be accessed via straight stairs. The stairs have a handrail.

The second floor is reached via the terrace, followed by a narrow spiral staircase with a handrail. The second floor has a bouldering area, changing rooms, restrooms, a warm-up area and a rope climbing area intended for groups. The upper floor can also be reached by elevator with staff assistance, by first visiting customer service.

In the bouldering area, the mattresses are approximately 40 cm high. In front of some of the bouldering mattresses there is a fixed threshold about 40 cm high, and in addition there is about 30 cm of mat on top of the threshold. At the base of the rope climbing walls, the safety mat is lower, approximately 5–10 cm high depending on the location on the wall. In front of the auto-belay walls on the first floor of the hall, there is a mattress approximately 40 cm high.

An accessible restroom is located at the back of the gym’s first floor.

Changing rooms and showers

The gym does not have an accessible changing room.

Assistance and services

Assistants are welcome free of charge.

Kalasatama

Arrival and entrance

The Kalasatama gym is located in the Redi shopping center. The gym’s main entrance is located on the corner of Leonkatu, outside the shopping center. From the main door, there are 35 steps down to the gym’s lobby. The accessible entrance to the gym is located on the K1 floor of the shopping center, next to Saiturinpörssi and Kalasataman Apteekki, and access to the gym is provided with staff assistance. The gym’s back door has a small threshold. To have the door opened, call the gym’s phone number 040 143 9581, and staff will come to open the door and assist you to the gym’s lowest floor. The Redi shopping center’s parking garage has plenty of accessible parking spaces.

The lowest floor houses, among other things, customer service, changing rooms, restrooms, a lobby area, and part of the bouldering walls. The lowest floor and the lobby area are on the same level. The bouldering mattresses are approximately 40 cm high, and in some parts of the gym there is a safety mat about 5–10 cm thick around the bouldering mattress. The power training and warm-up area is located on the top floor.

Salmisaari

Arrival and entrance

In front of the main entrance of the Salmisaari sports center (Energiakatu 3, K2 floor), there are two accessible parking spaces. The main entrance is accessible and has automatic doors. When arriving from the Energia-aukio side, the entrance on the north side can be reached accessibly via a ramp. From the U floor, the Kiipeilyareena’s facilities can be reached by elevator.

The gym’s climbing walls are located on several floors. Movement between floors is by elevator, which is also sized to accommodate an electric wheelchair. The 1st floor houses customer service, changing rooms, restroom and shower facilities, auto-belay walls, a warm-up area and a bouldering area. In the bouldering area, the mattresses are approximately 40 cm high. At the base of the rope climbing walls, the safety mat is lower, approximately 5–10 cm high depending on the location on the wall. In front of the auto-belay walls on the K1 floor, there is a lower mat, approximately 10 cm high. In front of the auto-belay walls on the 1st floor, there is a mat approximately 40 cm high.
