Auto belays
Climbing with automatic “auto belay” devices is a fun and easy way to climb high climbing walls without any previous experience. The devices allow you to climb up to 12 metres. There are routes for climbers of all levels. The weight limits for Ristikko’s auto belay equipment range from 15 to 130 kg. We always guide first-timers on how to use the equipment. Climbing with auto belay equipment is also a great option for those who want to practice rope climbing independently.
Top rope and lead climbing
For rope climbing, you need a partner who knows how to belay. Lead climbing brings many new dimensions to the climbing hobby, and we recommend that anyone interested should take a rope climbing course, which will give you the skills you need. For rope climbing, you will need to have a belay card.
Bouldering
Bouldering means climbing low walls with a thick mattress underneath in case of a fall. In bouldering you don’t need a climbing partner, making it very easy to get started. All you need are climbing shoes, which you can also rent on site. In bouldering you develop skills, body control and problem-solving abilities and it can be started without any previous climbing experience. The bouldering area has also the Kilter board and spray wall.
Speed climbing
Speed climbing is climbing on standardised fifteen-metre routes, where the aim is to achieve the fastest possible time. Speed climbing uses auto belay devices with a weight limit of 15–136 kg.

Roosa Huhtikorpi, Manager of the Ristikko’s gym
“I started climbing at the age of 6 and I’m still on that path. At some point, climbing also became a job, culminating in Ristikko, where I work as a gym manager. I am very proud of my gyms and their great staff. I want everyone to feel welcome in the gyms, regardless of age and skill level.”
