Birthday parties – instructions and frequently asked questions
This page tells you everything you need to know about booking a birthday party and about the day itself. Birthday parties are held on Saturdays and Sundays at KiipeilyAreena Ristikko.
Before the party
- When booking, choose the right group size: up to 10 people or 11–15 people.
- You will receive a booking confirmation by email.
- Before the party, we will send you a message asking for the birthday child’s name and age, the number and ages of the participating children, and anything else we should know, such as allergies. Please reply at least 7 days before the party.
- If the number of participants grows to more than 10 after booking, please let us know at least 7 days in advance so we can arrange a second instructor.
On the day
- Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start so you have time to change clothes and use the toilet.
- If you didn’t pay online when booking, please pay at the reception before the party starts.
- Children should wear comfortable, stretchy clothes and bring a water bottle. Socks only in the climbing area until climbing shoes are put on.
- In addition to snacks and drinks, please bring disposable tableware and napkins. Food can be kept in the fridge. The party room is already decorated. Due to fire alarms, candles cannot be blown out. Presents can be left in the party room, just outside it or at the reception.
- Please tidy up the room after the party, as the next group may arrive soon. Cleaning supplies are in the room.

On Saturdays and Sundays at KiipeilyAreena Ristikko (Ristikko Shopping Centre, 3rd floor, Ajomiehentie 1, Helsinki). Birthday parties are not currently held at Salmisaari or Kalasatama.
A climbing area reserved for your group and suitable for children, a professional instructor for 75 minutes, all equipment such as climbing shoes and harnesses, and a decorated party room for 45 minutes after climbing.
About two hours: 75 minutes of climbing with the instructor and 45 minutes in the party room.
The price is €300 for up to 10 people and €330 for 11–15 people. You can pay online when booking or at the reception before the party begins.
Up to 15. We do not organise birthday parties for more than 15 people.
Let us know as soon as possible at info@kiipeilyareena.com. If there will be more than 10 participants, we need a second instructor, so please let us know at least 7 days in advance.
At least one adult for every 10 children, so two adults for groups of more than 10. Adults are responsible for the children throughout the visit, including in the party room and while waiting for their turn to climb. The instructor guides and supervises the climbing.
No. The instructor guides the group, and we start on auto-belay walls. Once the children are comfortable, the instructor can also belay those who want to try top-rope climbing.
Yes. Food can be kept in the fridge, but candles cannot be lit.
